About Summer Love: New York City (2026)

Summer Love: New York City is the first book in the "Written in the Stars" series.

This story is my best yet. I will say that with confidence. I say, again, as I had it professionally edited, used a professional artist to draw Jane and Sebastian, and nearly questioned if this was my dream job.

As I have shared in the original post, which I will link here for you, the novel was originally going to be about my life and how I wished it had turned out. Growing up, I had a best friend, and I wished I had kept her close. She was the inspiration behind Katie. Spencer was based on a guy I had gotten close to, and I wished he wasn't as much of an asshole as he was. I had wanted to go to NYU and to move to New York City after high school, but it's not cheap.

However, while I was writing this story, my favorite actor was filming in New York City. Seeing fans run into him on the streets during filming inspired me, which is why I added the idea of Jane crossing paths with an up-and-coming actor in the city. What started as a personal, loosely inspired storyline quickly grew into something much bigger—a love story that took on a life of its own. I had to shift the angle away from my own experiences and let it become what it was always meant to be: Sebastian and Jane’s story, not mine.

Jane and Sebastian’s relationship is meant to feel intense and immediate. Their fast-moving love story was inspired by my parents, who met, began dating, and moved in together within a month or so—and are still happily together today.

Not all love stories take their time. Some are built on certainty rather than hesitation, and that belief is central to how I write romance.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey with this book and series. My heart is truly full knowing that readers have connected with the story and love Jane and Sebastian as much as I do. They’re a couple I’ll always be grateful for, and I’m so thankful this story unfolded the way it did. I’ve met some incredible readers along the way, and I can’t wait to meet even more of you and continue talking about these stories we love. It’s a feeling I don’t take for granted.
