Summer Love: New York City is the first book in the "Written in the Stars" series.
This story is my best yet. I will say that with confidence. It took me two months to write and three months to edit, the last month being because the formatting was a nightmare with all the images I used.
But the story follows two characters I never pictured falling in love with. Not only Jane and Sebastian but Katie and Spencer as well.
The novel was originally going to be about my life and how I wished it had turned out. Growing up, I had a best friend, and I wished I had kept her close... she was the inspiration behind Katie. Spencer was based on a guy I had gotten close to, and I wished he wasn't as much of an asshole as he was. I had wanted to go to NYU and to move to New York City after high school, but... money...
However, during the time I was writing this story, my favorite actor (currently... it changes about every two to four years) was filming in New York City. There were pictures popping up on Twitter, and fans were running into him. It blew my mind until I was reading more into it, and fans were following him. And TRACKING where he was. It shocked me and freaked me out a bit, as I am sure it also freaked him out. But I was inspired by the actor and his situation that I added running into an up-and-coming actor in the city. It quickly became a beautiful love story that I had to turn the angle of the story from my life into this beautiful story that I could truly say was Sebastian & Jane's story- not mine.
I had a lot of help at this time from my friend Rachel, my therapist, and my other friend Miranda. With amazing support, I was able to write my first New Adult novel and publish it within six months. However, it would've been sooner if things in my life hadn't blown up in August. But that's a story for another time.
