In honor of it being release day! Here is, from my beta readers, one of their favorite scenes!
TW: foul language below the divider.
As I got home that evening, I was cleaning the apartment when I heard a fist pounding against the door. I was nervously standing there, unsure if I should answer it when the rapping on the door became constant. I walked over and tried to look out the peephole, but the door rattled. I opened it to be met with Sebastian's cornelian blue eyes.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Sebastian practically growled at me. I looked at him, not sure if I was scared or turned on. He stormed into the apartment and picked me up, slamming me against the wall by the door. "Who does he think he is? Posting pictures of you like you're his prized possession? Hm? Where does he get the right?" Sebastian practically growled in my ear. I gripped his shoulders, not wanting to slip and fall from the force he used to push me against the wall.
"Why do you even care? You're clearly seeing someone else!" I argued. I wasn't going to let him know that I heard his conversation with Sabrina… I didn't want him to have the satisfaction. I watched as his nose crinkled, and he huffed in frustration, digging a knee between my legs to help support me.
"How many fucking times do I need to tell you I am not seeing Sabrina!" he yelled back at me, and I moved one of my hands to his chest, trying to create space between us when his knee came in contact with my core as I slid down the wall and involuntarily ground against him trying to scoot back up. I couldn't help the moan that was brewing in the back of my throat. The heat from his breath fanning over my face.
The front door opened, and I heard Spencer drop his guitar case on the ground as he came over, gripped Sebastian's shoulder, and pulled him from me as I slid down the wall, catching myself on my feet.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" Spencer yelled as he shoved Sebastian away from me. Sebastian looked dazed as he shook his head, and Spencer pulled me behind him. "Don't you ever fucking lay a hand on her again, or I will fucking kill you. Do you understand me? This is your warning, you son of a bitch," Spencer spat as Sebastian took a deep breath and made his way to the door. I watched from behind Spencer as Sebastian left and slammed the door shut behind him, not saying a word. I stood there, my body calming down as Spencer turned toward me.
"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" he asked, pulling my shirt sleeve up to observe my arms, and he ran his hand through my hair, checking for any scrapes or marks.
"I'm fine, Spence. Really, we were just talking…."
"Talking! He had you pinned against the wall, Jane! He could've fucking seriously hurt you!" Spencer scolded me. I sighed as I looked at him, and he shook his head at me, making excuses. "Do you want me to stay with you until Katie gets home? I can…" he said, and I shook my head.
"No, no, go to rehearsals. I will lock the door," I said. Spencer gave me a look of uncertainty, and I gave him a little shove. "I swear, I'm fine. Go!" I said, trying to prove to him I was okay. He grabbed his guitar case, picked up his amp that he came to grab, and left. I went back into the kitchen to start the dishwasher when the front door opened again. I expected to see Spencer, but Sebastian came whirling around the corner into the kitchen, and he swept me up into his arms and sat me on the counter, pressing his lips to mine.
